Anhui Lawyers Association Construction & Real Estate Committee’s Visit to Deacons 6 July 2006 On 6 July, a delegation of 17 lawyers comprising the committee members of the Construction & Real Estate Committee of the Anhui Lawyers Association paid an official visit to our firm. The delegation, which was headed by the Association’s Vice President Liu Jian Hua, met with Deacons Partners Franki Cheung and KK Cheung, and other Real Estate and China Practice Group members. The purpose of the meeting was for the lawyers to share their real estate and construction legal experience and knowledge. The meeting also discussed the functions of the Law Society of Hong Kong as well as its statutory duties and powers with regard to the legal practice in Hong Kong. There were many meaningful exchanges and the delegation was very impressed by our firm’s 155-year history in Hong Kong. At the end of the meeting, Vice President Liu presented us with a traditional Chinese watercolour painting which was painted specially for Deacons by a famous mainland artist. Deacons is one of the only 3 law firms to be visited by this important delegation during its short official visit to Hong Kong. Deacons was selected because of our highly regarded Property and Construction practices as well as the strengthening reputation of our China Practice Group.
