Deacons sponsors AIMA's First Pan Asian Regulatory Forum
18 October 2006
On Tuesday, 17 October 2006, Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA), the London based global industry association for hedge funds managers, in conjunction with Deacons and Goldman Sachs, hosted the First Pan Asian Regulatory Forum at the Marriott in Hong Kong.
The result of 2 years planning and project management, the forum brought together for the first time funds industry regulators and various banking and monetary regulators from across the Asian region and senior executives of large funds groups. The by-invitation-only event provided the 90 regulators and funds managers who attended a unique opportunity to share their respective views on key issues affecting the funds industry in Asia.
Jeremy Lam, Susan Gordon and Karen Kaur attended as delegates and Rory Gallaher moderated the final session on Shareholder Activism.
The acknowledged success of this initial forum has ensured that this will become an important bi-annual event in the calendar of regulators and funds managers alike and has helped to further consolidate Deacons' market leadership position in the funds industry in Hong Kong.
