Deacons partner speaks on SFC Investigations 24 April 2007 On 24 April 2007, Deacons' commercial litigation partner Joseph Kwan was invited by The Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries to speak at a seminar as part of the Institute’s Enhanced Continuing Professional Development Programme. The seminar was attended by over 40 members of the HKICS, many of whom were company secretaries of listed companies and management of securities and accounting firms. Joseph spoke on the topic of "Dealing with SFC Investigations", highlighting SFC's investigative powers, how to approach investigations by the SFC, the range of disciplinary actions which may be taken and reaching settlement following an investigation.
