Deacons presents to MTR on the Building Management (Amendment) Ordinance 2007 17 July 2007 At the invitation of MTR Corporation, Deacons' Senior Partner & Head of Property Department, Ms. Lilian Chiang, gave an in-house seminar on the legal implications of the Building Management (Amendment) Ordinance 2007 on Thursday, 12 July 2007 at the MTR's offices. The presentation mainly focused on the important changes brought about by the amendment Ordinance. The aims of the legislation are to rationalise the appointment procedures of a management committee, assist owners' corporations in performing their duties and exercising their powers, as well as safeguard the interests of property owners. The legislation commences operation on 1 August 2007. Over 100 attendees including staff members of MTR from various divisions (including Legal Department, Property Management Department, Finance Department and Procurement & Contract Department) as well as legal staff members of KCRC attended the seminar.
