To be successful in this role, you should have a university degree in Law / Economics / Accounting / Finance, preferably with experience in financial services or related industries. You must be an active team player with strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to work under pressure. An excellent command in both spoken and written English and Chinese is required, with proficiency in Putonghua a plus.

We are looking for a paralegal to provide legal support to our substantive and expanding insurance litigation practice. The successful candidate will work with a team of experienced lawyers. The principal responsibilities include interviewing witnesses and collating information for advising insurer clients, legal research, preparation of court documents such as pleadings, list of documents, witness statements and bundles relating to personal injuries, employees' compensation, property and other claims; etc.

The successful candidate should possess:

• A diploma/degree in legal studies or a degree in other professional discipline
• Minimum 3 years of solid experience in handling personal injuries work
• Good understanding and knowledge of law, particularly in the areas of employees' compensation and insurance
• Good writing skills

Senior Compliance & Regulatory Executive ("Compliance SCRE")

The primary objective of this role is to advise financial services clients in relation to their Hong Kong regulatory and compliance needs. The right candidate will also be expected to supervise and develop junior members of the team. Secretarial support will be available.

Responsibilities:

• advising on regulatory and compliance matters based on the SFO, the SFC codes and guidelines and best practices
• compliance systems set-up including drafting and advising on compliance manuals and internal procedures
• SFC inquires
• SFC inspections and mock inspections

Requirements:

• a degree holder (in law or other business related discipline) with at least 7 years of Hong Kong specific compliance and regulatory experience, preferably work experience at the SFC Intermediaries Supervision Department and ideally at managerial level. However, we would also consider applications with compliance advisory background

Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:

• FRRs
• Investment guideline compliance
• Handling trading errors
• Review of marketing materials
• Disciplinary proceedings
  and preferably with
• Knowledge of a wide range of financial products and services including derivative instruments, fixed income and foreign exchange and an understanding of the related legal and risk issues

The successful candidate should possess:

• good communication and interpersonal skills
• excellent English and Chinese language skills, proficiency in oral and written English. Putonghua is advantageous but not essential
• the ability to deal with clients with professionalism and to develop and maintain a good business relationship with clients
• good supervisory skills and good team spirit
